Let's continue the journey. 😍😍😍
Then, we went back to the town for breakfast. It was simple yet delicious!
The LAKSA and SOUP Mihun. Random yet yummy!
After that, we decided to withdraw some money. We were poor that time! There were only two ATMS at Kuala Penyu: one in Agrobank and one in the hospital. I could say the trip was a deep exploration as we even went to the hospital! No big deals, guys~ We went there to withdraw some money at the Bank Rakyat ATM. There are only two modern and big buildings at Kuala Penyu - the Mosque and Hospital. I even took some pictures there. While exploring the town, we discovered our own destinations. There is hanging bridge!
The hanging bridge of the town.
We observed the "hustle and bustle" of the town.
The fishermen just came back! They got big fishes. Well, the fresh fishes were sold immediately. Truly FRESH. |
We could see another cute local kids were trying to "fish". Hmmmm. I did this when I was in my young age at my grandma's house. I could tell you: it never succeed. 😜😜😜 |
The floating houses. The beautiful scenery that I could view from the hanging bridge. |
The market at Kuala Penyu. Only vegetables and fruits are sold here. You can get the fish by the river from the fishermen.
After two-hours rest, we left the town. We went to another KEY DESTINATION - RUMBIA INFORMATION CENTRE KUALA PENYU. It is an information centre to educate public about SAGO and BUTOD. It was not boring for us. The centre consists of outdoor walking trail and indoor exhibition hall. I think it is really a waste that no one visits there nowadays. The place is not well-maintained as there is no one. Haihh. I sincerely wish the Minister of Tourism would develop Kuala Penyu as one of the attractions in Sabah.
The ticket costs RM 5 each. The ticket was printed at year 2015. Hey, it's 2018 now.
Hey, man! This is a walking trail NOT SITTING TRAIL. 😅😅😅 |
The hanging bridge in Rumbia Information Centre. Arghh! The lake is almost fully covered by the grasses.
The traditional musical instruments of Sabah locals. |
Hehehe. Look at the CUTE and JUICY butod! Do you know you it is edible? The PIC purposely cut the tree and got us the fresh BUTOD. |
The entrance to the halls. |
Look at these side products made from Rumbia trees. LOVELY!
In the exhibition hall with cool air-cond. No worries. I wish I could be your beautiful one-day tour guide. |
I strongly suggest Rumbia Information Centre as one of the destinations when you travelling to Kuala Penyu. It helps you widen your horizon. Let's view some scenery at the main entrance of the centre.
A pretty man-made pool. |
With the traditional musical instruments.
With Mother of Butod. Ermmm. I do not mean the guy but the insect behind. 💥 |
I would like to recommend a two-days-one-night trip for you to travel around Kuala Penyu, There, you can try your luck to view the picturesque sunrise and sunset as well as visit to Rumbia Information Centre. You can also spend your time to observe the villager's life. You might discover another angle of view appreciating your life.
BONUS!
We actually had a thought to give up travelling at Kuala Penyu at the 1st day when we couldn't find an accommodation and due to the cloudy weather. It has really too limited information regarding this place. Fortunately, we gave ourselves a precious chance to explore this peaceful village. He said, "Did you remember that you said you can discover your own destinations?"
Yes. Travelling is not about reaching the destinations. It's all about discovering and exploring your own new destinations.
Thanks Kuala Penyu. Bye Kuala Penyu! Till we will meet again for the beautiful sunset. |
I wish these posts (Deep Exploration at Kuala Penyu, Sabah 1, 2, 3) would help you in travelling to Kuala Penyu. Thanks for reading! ENJOY!
